Privacy Notice
How ActiveLink Media collects, uses, and protects your personal information — and what your rights are under GDPR.
What we collect
We collect personal information in two ways: when you submit an enquiry, and when you sign up for our newsletter. We collect only the minimum needed for each purpose.
When you submit an enquiry, we collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Company / organisation
- Sector
- The challenge or situation you describe to us
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your first name and email address only.
Our hosting provider maintains standard server access logs — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps — for server administration and security only. These logs are not used for marketing, profiling, or analytics beyond basic aggregate server-side reporting.
We set no cookies, use no tracking pixels, and run no behavioural or cross-site tracking of any kind.
Legal basis for processing
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we rely on the following legal bases:
We process enquiry data on the basis of legitimate interest: responding to a request you have initiated is a reasonable and expected use of the information you provide, and does not override your rights and freedoms.
We process newsletter data on the basis of your explicit, opt-in consent, given at the point of signup. You may withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing or contacting us directly.
How it's protected
We use a small number of carefully chosen service providers to operate this site and handle correspondence. We do not sell, rent, or share your information with advertisers or data brokers.
Enquiry and newsletter data is held in an EU-based contact management and email marketing platform that operates natively under GDPR. This platform is used solely to manage correspondence and newsletter delivery — never for advertising or third-party data sharing.
Outbound correspondence is delivered via a Swiss-based, privacy-focused email provider, which operates under Swiss data protection law — among the strongest privacy regimes in the world, independent of EU or US jurisdiction.
This website is hosted by a South African hosting provider, subject to South Africa's data protection law (POPIA). See our POPIA notice for details relevant to South African data subjects.
No advertising networks, data brokers, or client-side analytics services have access to your information. If this changes, this notice will be updated in advance.
Tracking & cookies
This site sets no cookies and uses no client-side tracking of any kind. No cookie consent banner is required because there is nothing to consent to.
Website usage is currently measured only through server-side log analysis performed directly on our hosting server. No data leaves the server for this purpose, and no third-party analytics or advertising script is loaded on this site.
Retention
Retained for up to 2 years from your last contact with us, after which it is deleted unless a professional engagement requires it to be kept longer for legitimate business or legal record-keeping purposes.
Retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion, whichever comes first.
Your rights
If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, the following rights apply to your personal data under GDPR and UK GDPR.
To exercise any of these rights, contact hello@activelink.biz. We will respond within 30 days.
Governing law
This notice, and our processing of your personal information, is governed by applicable United States and European Union data protection law, as relevant to your location and the basis on which your data was collected.
